Searching for HR Information on the Web

You are already familiar with some of the basics of web searching - you found this page! But how did you get here? Most likely you used one of the following methods:

  • You typed one or more keywords into a 'search engine' such as Google.
  • You typed HRM Guide's address into the 'location' or 'address' area at the top of the page.
  • Someone sent you an e-mail with a link to this site - and you clicked it.
  • You were given (or you found) a page with a list of links - including one to this site.
  • You followed a link from another web site.
  • You found a link on a blog or social media post.

We'll look at these in turn and examine some of the advantages and problems associated with each method.
