Air Force training recognised

20 March 2001 - The Royal Australian Air Force’s training systems have met all 9 standards of the ACT Quality Framework for Vocational Education and Training. This was recognised today by the Australian Capital Territory’s Accreditation and Registration Council. Air Marshal Errol McCormack, the Chief of Air Force, accepted the Quality Award from ACT Minister for Education and Community Services, Mr Bill Stephaniak.

The RAAF is the first organisation registered in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) to be endorsed as a Quality training organisation under the Australian Recognised Framework. With training being such a fundamental element of delivering Air Force capability for Australia's defence, the awarding of the Quality Certificate is a prestigious recognition of the RAAF's success in this area.

Achievement of the Quality endorsement required the Air Force to meet nine stringent criteria detailed in the ACT Quality Framework for Vocational Education and Training program.

The nine criteria which the RAAF met were:

* Strategic Management

* Client Focus

* Human Resource Management

* Administration, Information and Financial Management

* Assets and Facilities Management

* Organisational Performance

* Course Design, Development and Review

* Training Provision

* Assessment and Skills Recognition

Air Force’s Training Command went well beyond minimum standards required for accreditation. The Quality framework will be rolled out to include all RAAF units with training responsibilities. In addition, Training Command will look to apply
